Your responsibilities

  • Create the awareness of Lean principles in all employees of the Plant
  • Identify relevant opportunities by facilitating the plant diagnostic and create the go-forward-plan on an annual basis (Value Stream Map and Waste Elimination reviews)
  • Support the final selection of Improvement projects including Kaizen events, 6 Sigma and daily improvement activities
  • Support the improvements by selecting the appropriate tools and training the team
  • Support the leader of the improvement and follow up to assure systems/processes have been deployed to sustainment
  • Identify, estimate and follow up the financial impact of significant improvement projects with the financial controller
  • Prepare and facilitate improvement events (Kaizen, RCPS, waste elimination, 5s, autonomous maint., etc.) as well as follow up on any 30-day-action-plan
  • Support the replication of improvements to other areas or plants together with the Regional CIP
  • Support the creation and implementation of the Lean Management System in the Plant
  • Train the local organization in the selected improvement tools and systems
  • Train the department leaders in performing Layered auditing on key processes, systems and tools
  • Perform layered audit on key improvement activities
  • Generate the monthly 5S plant average KPI and other KPI’s as needed
  • Document OP-EX projects and share with Regional CIP
  • Document Kaizen event results and share with Regional CIP
  • Document learnings from the Lean Management System implementation and share with Regional CIP
  • Collect, document and share identified best practices with Regional CIP
  • Promote lean principles within the local organization by newsletters, videos etc.

Your competencies and qualifications


  • Continuous improvement training in the following: Kaizen, root cause problem solving, 5s, visual management, autonomous maintenance/TPM, SMED, 7 wastes, process flow or standard work
  • Experience leading improvement activity on any improvement tool listed above
  • Manufacturing/technical background
  • Experienced in developing and implementing procedures
