Corporate Product Steward (m/w)

Your responsibilities

The Corporate Product Steward provides expertise and knowledge to follow and manage emerging issues, regulations and trends in the area of rigid plastic packaging. He/She interprets regulatory issues (eg. REACH, PIM, CLP, FDA, Mercosur, GMC32/07 national food contact, plastics, additives, color and recycling regulations) and provides recommendations to business groups, such as Sales, Technics, Purchasing, Business Units, ALPLA manufacturing plants, as well as external customers.

  • Serve as linking function between ALPLA, suppliers and customers on Product Stewardship issues
  • Represent the interests of ALPLA by participating industry groups and regulatory institutions
  • Monitor and manage emerging issues or changing regulations. Provide issue analysis, response strategy and execution plans
  • Communicate changes of legal requirements regarding resins or product functionalities within the organization and uncover opportunities thereof
  • Actively engage and lead food and skin contact clearance topics for the ALPLA organization
  • Build close relationships and networking with key customer product stewards and relevant organization

Your competencies and qualifications

  • Subject related technical degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years specific functional experience in the areas of regulatory, Product Stewardship, EHS or technical R&D is preferred
  • Experience with polymers, additives and colorants
  • Strong analytical, technical and evaluation skills
  • Interpersonal capabilities to work effectively as a team member and to plan and coordinate processes for results
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Strong communication skills : fluently spoken and written English, German and/or Spanish welcome
  • Ability to represent the interests of ALPLA in external industry groups or advocacy with regulatory agencies.

Equality Act: Due to our legal obligation we have determined the minimum annual salary for this position to be 40.000,-- € gross. The actual payment will be based on the labour market and your work experience and qualifications.
