Desktop Support Technician

Your responsibilities


The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for resolving support requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. The IT Desktop Support Technician staff works in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through e-mail, phone, in person (for walk-in customers) and self-service. The Desktop Support Technician is the first point of contact for any IT related questions/issues and provides hands on technical support.

  • Provide PC hardware and software support with majority focus on the Microsoft Windows platform

  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems across a range of software applications

  • Accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system

  • Install, configure, update, upgrade or replace various types of existing or new IT equipment.

  • Resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware

  • Configures and maintains user account information in Active Directory

  • Provides technical support via phone, emails, and remote tools and on site visits to end-users with timely resolution

  • Ensures all IT assets are logged

  • Maintains excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization

  • Must meet quantity, time and customer satisfaction goals for incidents

Your competencies and qualifications

  • Minimum 2 year Degree (Associates) in related field or equivalent experience in lieu of education

  • Advanced systems/networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and Active Directory

  • Experience with MS Office/Windows

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Great communication skills

  • Dependable

  • Detail Oriented

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability and willingness to learn new programs/functions quickly

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in a fast paced environment

  • Willing and able to travel up to 25%
