We are the IT department for Development & Innovation at ALPLA. Our mission is to empower global product development by providing the right digital platforms, tools, and data—supporting innovation from the first idea to full-scale industrialization.
As a Product Development Platform Architect (m/f/d), you will be the architectural anchor for our product development IT landscape. You will take ownership of how platforms like PLM, CAD, CAM, and ERP interact, ensuring they form a coherent, scalable, and data-driven ecosystem.
This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic process understanding. You'll collaborate closely with Engineering, Innovation, and IT teams—helping align tools and architectures with our long-term development goals.
What You'll Do
- Design and maintain the overarching architecture for digital product development systems
- Act as a key partner for engineering teams in system design, tool integration, and process improvement
- Consolidate and connect data across platforms to enable transparency, automation, and analytics
- Contribute to the enhancement and alignment of PLM, CAD, CAM, and ERP environments
- Collaborate with Engineering, Innovation, and IT stakeholders to shape long-term digital strategies
- Lead cross-functional digitalization initiatives and support implementation projects
- Engage with external technology providers to evaluate and introduce new solutions
What makes you great
- Extensive experience in engineering IT or digital product development (e.g. PLM, CAD, CAM, ERP integration)
- Familiarity with platforms such as Siemens Teamcenter, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and K2-based systems
- A strong architectural mindset and ability to translate business needs into sustainable systems landscapes
- Experience in data integration and consolidation across multiple platforms
- Deep understanding of development processes in manufacturing or industrial settings
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Excellent English skills (German is a plus)
- Independent, analytical, and forward-thinking
