Tool Room Technician

Production and Productivity

• Repairs, maintains and services of tools
• Ensuring that the required material, spare parts and or equipment's are provided in a timely manner.
• Maintains adequate stock for repairs and spare parts
• Maintains proper documentation for tools received /issued/ordered
• Daily log and record keeping as per SOPs
• Keeps stockroom and tool room clean following 5s standards
• Orders and receives parts /equipment as necessary
• Assists as necessary with any equipment breakdowns
• Contribution in production optimization through preventative maintenance.
• Reports immediately to maintenance manager for appropriate analysis and corrective actions
• Coordinates with maintenance manager for the daily activities and maintenance plan schedule
• Attends any breakdown affecting production, carries out trouble shooting and repairs in a effective, resourceful and professional manner.
• Responsible for safekeeping of maintenance hand tools and equipment's
• Carries out preventive maintenance of all molds and related accessories as per maintenance plan/schedule
• Follows the production schedule to determine the kind of repair works or PMs can be performed without impacting overall machine efficiency
• Supports the changeover team if required
• Following Standard operating Procedures (SOPs) at any point of time
• Inspects and examines equipment (molds and accessories) and immediately report any defects
• Maintains molds and accessories in order to guarantee constant production and/or call for support if needed.
• Ensures 5S procedures and activities are followed as per SOPs.

Person Specifications:

Education

• 3 years Degree in related field or equivalent.

Experience

• 3-5 years knowledge of plastics blow molding or injection molding equipment, molds and accessories
• At least 3-5 years of maintenance experience with molds, tools, accessories and mechanical trouble shooting.
• 5 years of responsible experience in Plastic Manufacturing Industry, in-depth knowledge of the plastic process.
• Able to use welding , lathe , milling, grinding, and drilling machine

Qualifications/ Skills/

Personal Competencies

• Technical training Certificate in mold making with skill in trouble shooting mold related problems, able to read engineering drawing/vocational course graduate
• Ability to learn usage of maintenance software for data input and research parts
• Good written and communication skills in English
• Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts
• Professional attitude in dealing with individuals at all levels and the handling if confidential information.
