Machine Setter

We currently have an opportunity within our Machine Setting team at our Golborne UK base plant (WA3) – Initially on a 12 Month FTC basis.

Purpose of job/mission

Setting of blow molding/Injection machines to ensure that products produced are to the required specification.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• To ensure that blow moulding machines and ancillary equipment are in good running order.  To report any defects to supervision and carry out any remedial work as instructed by supervision, which is within the setters' level of competence to minimise loss of production and maximise machine efficiency.
• That all relevant paperwork is completed at the time the job is handed over to Production and any special information regarding the job is conveyed to supervision.
• To carry out sampling procedures, as instructed on sample requests issued by the Technical Department. To ensure the results from the sampling are recorded, and any suggestions for improvements are passed to the Technical Department.
• To report any mechanical or electrical problems to supervision, so that the problem can be resolved by the relevant department.
• To ensure that work areas are maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness at all times.

Skills/Experience:

• Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment – previous experience in a similar role is essential (training provided on specific ALPLA machinery)
• Mechanical engineering experience/knowledge
