Infrastructure Engineer - Brasov

At ALPLA, you will help operate and continuously improve the infrastructure behind a global manufacturing company. Our Core Infrastructure team provides reliable and secure infrastructure services for ALPLA locations around the world. We work with modern on-premises technologies as well as Microsoft Azure and are continuously developing our platforms towards a more standardized, automated, and resilient environment. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will become part of an international team and work with technologies around servers, virtualization, storage, backup, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.

Your responsibilities include:

• Operate and continuously improve our global infrastructure platforms.
• Work with server, virtualization, storage, and backup technologies in an enterprise environment.
• Support reliable backup, recovery, and infrastructure resilience solutions. Work with both on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure IaaS environments.
• Analyze technical issues and help find sustainable solutions.
• Work with both on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure IaaS environments.
• Participate in infrastructure projects and the implementation of new technologies
• Contribute to the automation, standardization, and modernization of our infrastructure.
• Monitor infrastructure services and help ensure stable and reliable operations.
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge within the team.
• Collaborate with colleagues from different IT teams and locations around the world.
• Depending on your experience and interests, you can gradually take ownership of specific technologies, platforms, or infrastructure services.

You do not need to be an expert in every technology we use. We are looking for someone with a solid infrastructure background, curiosity, and the motivation to develop further. You might currently work as an Infrastructure Engineer, System Engineer, Systems Administrator, Data Center Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or in a similar technical role.

What matters to us:

• Experience working with IT infrastructure in a professional environment
• Good understanding of at least some infrastructure technologies such as Windows or Linux Server, virtualization, storage, backup, or cloud infrastructure.
• Interest in working with a broad infrastructure landscape rather than only a single technology
• A structured and solution-oriented approach to technical problems.
• Willingness to take responsibility for topics and follow them through to completion.
• Interest in improving and automating existing solutions
• Enjoyment of working in an international team and sharing knowledge with colleagues
• Professional proficiency in English. Experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS, VMware, enterprise backup solutions, storage technologies, scripting, or automation is an advantage – but you do not need to bring all of these skills.
