Finance Manager

What you will enjoy doing

  • Manage all financial matters of Angola plants, which includes Finance, Controlling, Tax and Cash Flow Management.
  • Oversees the daily accounting activities required to maintain the Company's general ledger.
  • Supervises, directs, and reviews the work of the accounting staff (including cash reconciliations, Vendor/customer account statement reconciliations, check/transfer runs, accounts receivable transactions, accounts payable transactions, inventory, equity, fixed asset activity, payroll, debt activity, recording of revenue and expenses).
  • Supervise EMIS reporting for all accounting related matters (Fixed Assets, Working Capital, Balance sheet items, Cash/debt, loans and banks) on monthly basis meeting deadlines with comments.
  • Avoid legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforce accounting Regulations, recommend new procedures.
  • Maintain financial accounting reporting excellence by establishing internal controls for the following cycles: payable cycle from invoice receiving till check handing over to vendor; receivable cycle from invoice issuing till funds collection; and fix impacts on both realized and unrealized sides on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Produces financial reports involving the shareholder accounts for monthly meetings.
  • Produces monthly Profit/Loss statement and Balance sheet for local books and EMIS formats.
  • Supervises monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities and produces and reviews quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial statements.
  • Responsible for Budgeting process/realization and monthly variance analysis according to local regulations as well as the ALPLA requirements.
  • Develop a controlling and reporting structure linked to internal reporting's, cost controlling and benchmarking.
  • Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting & tax policy, apply observations and recommendations to operational issues.

What makes you great

  • University degree in finance, business administration, quantitative methods, economics, etc.
  • First experiences (2-3 years) as a controller in an industrial environment including knowledge of planning, budgeting and KPI management.
  • Knowledge of local and international accounting standards and consolidation requirements.
  • Ability to analyse, compare and interpret facts and figures quickly.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Reliable, accurate, with attention to details.
  • Communicative, flexible and task oriented, with excellent professional standards, committed and loyalty.
  • Experienced and able to lead and develop the finance, controlling and accounting team.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills as well as a high grade of flexibility.
  • Finance & Controlling expert with 8 years' experience in the finance department of a complex manufacturing company and experienced in leading a team of people.
