Business Development Manager - Injection Molding

The IM Business Development Manager will generate new Injection Molding business by prospecting and developing new potential customers and segments by successfully attracting customers to promote our IM technology and products resulting in strategic alignment, profitability, and growth with NOAM Region.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Business Development
    • Evaluate long term potential for the IM Market within NOAM Region.
    • Translate corporate strategy and sales goals into an executable sales and account strategy for target customers and regions.
    • Align all Business Development activities with the regional sales teams.
    • Provide a monthly order forecast and a monthly sales forecast.
    • Generate new clients and new sales opportunities.
    • Monitor and analyze market conditions, trends, and potential threads or opportunities.
    • Act as key interface for our customers and all relevant internal resources to ensure smooth project execution and success.
  • Company Presentations with Potential Customers and Industry Stakeholders
    • Organize and manage resources to follow the prospects visit plan.
    • Contact potential customers and identify needs.
    • Organize meetings and plant visits/develop long term relationships.
    • Ensure ALPLA is well represented in front of the customer.
    • Fully understands ALPLA capabilities and footprint.
  • Manage and Responsible for New Requests for Quotation 
  • Networking
  • Market Observation

What makes you great

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or Engineering.
  • 5-6 years related experience.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in business administration with a strong ability to deeply understand market trends, partner ecosystems and competitive strategies.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a comparable sales management position.
  • Strong market knowledge for plastic packaging.
  • Excellent technical understanding of plastic packaging products and their market requirements.
  • Knowledge in IM technology.
  • Comfortable with business strategies, prioritization, go to market, pricing, and the tracking of KPIs together with financial metrics.
  • Enable talented individuals, foster a test & learn culture and organization. 
  • Advanced communication and facilitation skills on all organizational levels and diverse groups.
  • Open and mindful for new tasks and challenges.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experienced, with an open mindset working across multiple cultures and regions.
  • Solid IT user skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
