Senior GL Accountant
What you will enjoy doing
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet and Income Statement Accounts.
- Provides financial support to plants.
- daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting activities in eMis and the various suite of ALPLA databases and programs.
- Conducts studies of accounting errors and unusual or unexplained financial relationships.
- Tracks petty cash settlement and open petty cash amounts in compliance with the petty cash policy.
- Posting of salary entries and managing all payroll accruals (posting and reversing)
- Fixed assets creation, running depreciation and analyzing AUC/AUP accounts.
- Reviews and analyses the various reporting for accuracy and reasonableness to ensure financial accuracy from month to month.
- Makes daily, weekly and month-end journal entries as needed.
- Assists with year-end audit and tax return preparation, as needed.
- Execution of General Ledger and Asset Accounting according to German GAAP (HGB), esp. month-end closing and annual financial statements
- Ensuring Compliance with internal and external standards and guidelines as well as conducting internal financial control tasks
- Preparation of intercompany payment runs, as well as intercompany reconciliation.
- Any additional tasks as per instructions from supervisor or manager
What makes you great
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of practical working experience in accounting area of ‘General Ledger'.
- Former experience with SSC projects beneficial but not required.
- Analytical skills, high degree of personal responsibility and self-reliance, good communication skills and assertiveness
- Strong commitment, motivation and high enthusiasm.
- Hands on mentality and fast customer-oriented problem-solving abilities.
- Very good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Excellent English communication verbal and written.
- Relevant experience in D365 is beneficial.
